Kentucky State Police are investigating after the body of a Tennessee murder suspect was found on the bank of the Cumberland River in Lyon County on Monday.
Just after 2:00 p.m., Kentucky State Police Post 1 says a person on McKinney Road in Kuttawa reported finding a body along the riverbank at the end of the road. According to police, troopers and detectives responded and identified the body as 37-year-old Darrion Young of Nashville, TN.
Authorities say they previously began a missing person investigation for Young when a vehicle associated with him was found abandoned on March 13th, around 9 p.m., on the I-24 bridge over the Cumberland River. Police say they conducted an initial search of the river at that time, with plans for additional searches this week.
Police say detectives contacted Metro Nashville Police, who went to an address in Nashville to check on the vehicle’s owner and found a woman dead inside the home.
Authorities say there is no foul play suspected in Young’s death, and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing.
