A Lyon County man was killed after two concrete trucks collided and overturned in Graves County on Monday morning.

Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden says the crash happened around 7:20 Monday morning on Kentucky Highway 94, just east of the Kentucky Highway 564 intersection. He says the two concrete trucks, both owned by Advance Manufacturing Brand Concrete Mixer, were heading in opposite directions and they clipped each other, causing both drivers to lose control, leave the road, and overturn. He reports one of the trucks overturned in a field, and the other truck overturned in a creek.

Authorities say one of the trucks was operated by 24-year-old Conner Paschall of Hazel, who had minor injuries and declined medical treatment at the scene.

They say the other driver, 48-year-old Jeremiah Smith of Eddyville, was in the truck that overturned in the creek and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Graves County coroner.

Several agencies assisted Graves County deputies at the scene, with Eddyville Police and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office helping notify next of kin.

Authorities said it took most of Monday to recover and remove the two cement mixer trucks, with the road remaining closed through mid-afternoon.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office says the crash remains under investigation.
