The last classes of Christian County High School and Hopkinsville High School will grace the stage in just over two months. The Christian County Board of Education voted Thursday night to set graduation for the Classes of 2026 on May 22nd. Board Vice Chair Lindsey Clark questioned the order with Melanie Barrett and Superintendent Chris Bentzel saying it is because of a sports conflict.
CCHS will graduate first at 5:00 pm at the CCHS Gym. Then HHS will graduate at 8:30 pm at the HHS Gym.
In other business, Director of Finance Jessica Darnell asked the board to approve monthly payments to contractors at the new CCHS totaling $2.3 million.
The Board also approved paying Hafer $57 thousand for their work on the high school and stadium projects. New equipment for the Automotive labs and Industrial Maintenance programs were also approved.
