Tree damage from Sunday's storms was reported in Christian County, while an EF0 tornado was surveyed in northern Clarksville
An EF0 tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service from Sunday’s storm in northern Clarksville.
The Nashville office conducted a survey on Tuesday and determined that a tornado began near Fort Campbell and continued northeast across Fort Campbell Boulevard to near Outlaw Field. The storm, which passed through the area around 9:35 Sunday night, caused damage, including shingles falling off building roofs and some small tree limbs snapping.
The tornado continued east toward Fort Campbell Boulevard, where an overhang structure was blown down at a car wash. The tornado then moved northeast through additional neighborhoods and across Outlaw Airfield.
Damage in the neighborhoods included downed, rotten trees; snapped tree branches; downed fences; shingles blown off roofs; and occasional damage to vinyl siding and metal.
The tornado crossed Outlaw Field and uprooted a few trees on a farm just northeast of the airfield. The tornado then continued northeast into a large residential neighborhood, causing additional minor structural and roof damage to several homes and snapping small tree limbs.
The tornado dissipated somewhere near the state line in an open field south of I-24, as no additional damage was found north of Allen Road.
Weather officials say the tornado path lasted five miles and produced peak winds of 75 mph.
