The City of Hopkinsville will host a Lot Next Door Town Hall later this month to provide people with information about the program and answer questions.
The Lot Next Door program allows eligible property owners to acquire certain vacant lots next to their own property. Mayor J.R. Knight says the program is designed to help return those lots to productive use and help maintain property values.
City staff will walk through the steps involved in the program and how the review process works.
Knight says there nearly 1,000 vacant or abandoned lots throughout the city and they are costly to maintain.
The town hall will be Tuesday, March 31 at 5:00 at Hopkinsville City Hall.
