Ruby K. Danes, age 71, of Hopkinsville, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center due to natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Pastor Don Marsh officiating and burial to follow in East End Cemetery in Cadiz. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Ruby was born in Muskegon, MI, on February 25, 1955, the daughter of the late Byron Choate and Thelma Beatrice Oliver Choate. She was a member of Westview Assembly of God. She had a true passion for helping others and serving the lord, lending a hand to anyone in need. She worked in the Trigg County Public School System prior to retirement, as well as in the Foster Care System in Social Services and Human Resources. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Amos Choate, and her sister, Thelma Hendricks.
Survivors include her sons, Nathan (Katie) Danes and Ronald Harris both of Hopkinsville; her brothers, Danny Choate of Nashville, TN, Tommy Choate of Hopkinsville, Leslie Choate of Cadiz, KY; her sister, Doris Choate of Cadiz, KY; her stepsisters, Trish Miller of California and Linda Choate of Gracey, KY; her granddaughter, Crystal Starr Harris; and her three great grandchildren, Evelyn Reyne Averitt, Skylar Storm Averitt, and Marcellus Roman Bell.
