Michael “Mike” Jenkins, age 77, of Cerulean, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 9, 2026, at his home in Christian County, due to natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Humphries officiating and burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Mike was born in Christian County, KY, on December 21, 1948, to the late Elmo Jackson James and Mary Cornela Gee James, and was later adopted as the son of the late James Lee Jenkins and Edna Mildred Cunningham Jenkins. He had worked for 12 years at Model Milk Company and retired after 25 years at Pepsi-Cola. After his retirement, he was a Co-Owner of Lic’s here in Hopkinsville for 13 years and went on to transport vehicles for Toyota of Hopkinsville. He had attended Second Baptist Church and was a member of the Bass Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Billy James and David James; and his sisters, Paulette James Francis, Brenda James Taylor, Glenda James Maston, and Terri James Francis.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Pat Jenkins of Cerulean, KY; his sons, Donnie (Tracy) Oliver of Gracey, KY, Michael Jenkins of Pembroke, KY; his daughters, Tina (Jon) Smith of Lexington, KY, Wendy Thompson of Henderson, KY; his sister, Judi (Richard) DeBow of Hopkinsville, KY; his seven grandchildren Drake Oliver, Bryce Moore, Alexis Thompson, Jordan Jenkins, Cody Smith, Dani Smith, and Dalton Smith; and his five great grandchildren, Tate Oliver, Maverick Moore, Brynleigh Shank, Rilyn Slayers, and Khloe Slayers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Pennyroyal Hospice.
