Parents of soon-to-be kindergarteners in Hopkinsville are invited to attend a district-wide registration event later this month.
Christian County Public Schools will host kindergarten registration on Friday, March 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Early Learning Center, located at 313 Blane Drive.
The event is for children who will be 5 years old on or before August 1, 2026, making them eligible to start kindergarten for the upcoming school year.
Parents or guardians should bring several documents required for enrollment, including proof of residency, a certified birth certificate, and required medical records such as a physical exam, vision exam, dental exam, and a current Kentucky immunization record.
School officials say proof of residency requires one document such as a lease, deed, or tax bill, along with two additional documents such as a Kentucky driver’s license, government assistance documentation, utility bills, or an auto insurance statement.
Families can also determine which school their child will attend by using the school site locator on the district website.
District leaders say kindergarten is an important milestone that helps build the foundation for a child’s future academic success.
