An investigation into a missing urn from a gravesite in Crofton led to a Hopkinsville woman being taken into custody on Thursday night.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called about a missing urn from a gravesite in Crofton, leading them and Kentucky State Police to a home on Wood Street in Hopkinsville owned by 46-year-old Jessica Hamby.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Captain Payton Rogers says Hamby suffered a medical issue, and an ambulance came to the home and checked her out.
Deputies say the urn contained a family member of Hamby, and the urn was located in the home on Wood Street.
Hamby was charged with abuse of a corpse and violating graves.
