
The City of Cadiz has announced the first mayoral appointments to the newly formed Trigg County Country Ham Festival Committee, created under Ordinance 26-03.
The committee will oversee planning and organizing the annual Trigg County Country Ham Festival in Cadiz.
Mayor Todd King made the appointments to include representatives from local government, tourism, business, and community organizations.
To establish staggered terms moving forward, members were appointed to either one-year or two-year initial terms.
Serving two-year terms from March 1 through December 31, 2027, are David Fourqurean of the Trigg County Extension Office, Jeff Hunter of Cadiz-Trigg County Parks and Recreation, Beth Sumner of the Cadiz-Trigg County Tourist and Convention Commission, Brenda Price of the Cadiz City Council, Amber Syester of the City of Cadiz Finance Department, Cadiz Police Chief Tyler Thomas, Adrienne Fuller of FNB Bank, Kara Allen of Trigg County Hospital and Trigg County Treasurer Lucy Oliver Kyler.
Serving one-year terms from March 1 through December 31 are Trigg County Magistrate Mike Wright, Cadiz Public Works Director Craig Oakley, Alan Watts and Joshua Claussen of WKDZ, Karen Stanfield of the Cadiz-Trigg County Chamber of Commerce, Tammy Mason of The Mason Jar, community representative John Rayme Hopson and Susan Hyde of the City of Cadiz.
City officials say the committee is designed to be a hands-on, working group that will coordinate festival activities in partnership with Cadiz city government. Members are expected to continue meeting in the coming weeks to plan upcoming events.
