A drug investigation led to a traffic stop on Greenville Road, then the search of a Christian County home on Tuesday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they stopped a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Jevartaye Thomas to check for proof of insurance and excessive window tint.
During the stop, deputies say they could smell the odor of marijuana, and after a search, suspected drug packaging was found, and he admitted there may be drugs at his home, but would not give his address.
After further investigation, he was reportedly found to be living with 25-year-old Makayla Holmes on Locust Street.
Deputies say they were able to get a search warrant for the home and found a large amount of marijuana and a loaded rifle that were easily accessible to two children.
Thomas was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, trafficking marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, no insurance, excessive windshield/ window tinting, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Holmes was also arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and endangering the welfare of a minor.
