Kentucky Leaders Sign Final Beam For New Kentucky Expo Building

The final beam that will become part of the new 300,000 square foot building at the Kentucky Exposition Center will contains the signatures of Kentucky leaders who helped make the $400 million renovation project a reality.

Kentucky House Speaker David Osborne, State Senate President Robert Stivers, and Kentucky Office of Agriculture Policy Director Brandon Reed were among those on hand Friday at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville for what was deemed the topping off ceremony.

Kentucky Venues President and CEO David Beck says the new building offers more room for future events.

Also speaking during the ceremony was Louisville Metro Mayor Craig Greenburg and Kentucky Venues Chief Operating Officer Matt Johnson.

Following the ceremony all those on hand had a chance to sign the final beam that will be installed in the new building when it is completed. The building is scheduled for completion in December 2026, with the next phase to involve the demolition of the west wing and construction of new building to replace it.
