A wreck on East 9th Street in Hopkinsville sent three people to the hospital Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say at 3:53 am, a northbound car driven by 23-year-old Desiree Youngblood of Hopkinsville on South Virginia Street collided with a car driven by 36-year-old Domanique Rodgers of Hopkinsville that was going eastbound on East 9th Street.

Youngblood reportedly fled on foot after the crash, leaving two people in the car: 27-year-old Briana Johnson of Hopkinsville and 24-year-old Aniyah Lewis of Hopkinsville, who were injured and had to be taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health for treatment.

Police say the passengers in the vehicle with Youngblood stated she was angry and ran the red light. Rodgers also reportedly went to the hospital by private vehicle due to injuries.

Youngblood was later located on Glass Avenue, and the owner of the vehicle, who is her sister, reportedly stated Youngblood did not have permission to use the vehicle.

Youngblood is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
