Funeral services for 79-year-old Greg Hester of Hopkinsville will be Friday, February 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Greg Hester died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
A native of Birmingham, AL he was born July 23, 1946 the son of the late Alfred Cullum Hester and Lucille Artie Armstrong Hester. He was a retired Independent Life Insurance Agent. He was a veteran of the United State Marine Corps. He was a member of Sinking Fork Baptist Church. He was formerly a member of the Sheriff’s Posse and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years: Judy Groom Hester; his daughters: Janet Hester (David) Latham and Sandra (Clark Ponville) Hester both of Hopkinsville, KY; his sister: Doris (Tommy) Turner of Russellville, KY; his grandchildren: Austin (Kelsey) Hester, Jacob Hester, Marissa Hester (Neil) Pennington, Brittany Latham, and Courtney (Ryan) Collins; and eight great grandchildren.
