WPKY's own Todd Griffin was recognized Tuesday night during the home basketball games for his nearly 40 years of service to the Caldwell County Tiger sports teams. Griffin graduated Caldwell County High School in 1987 and has been providing sports coverage since then for the local radio and newspaper. He has won over 60 awards from the Kentucky Press Association for his work and continues to provide quality coverage for the Edge Media Group and YourSportsEdge at WPKY. Griffin shared what this honor means to him and how sports have changed over the years.
Griffin has kept up with the number of football games he has covered but not sure how many other games.
He feels like he has been present in the high school gym as much as any other local resident.
Caldwell County High School Athletic Director Jeff Riley explained why they decided to recognize Griffin.
Riley expressed how much the school system appreciates Griffin.
Riley also shared his appreciation to WPKY and the Edge Media Group.
Griffin added he is not planning on going anywhere soon and is looking forward to covering more sports events.
