A Hopkinsville woman was charged with shoplifting at Walmart in Hopkinsville on Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called for 34-year-old Shaquoia Ewing, who had taken items from the store and was leaving in a vehicle.
She was stopped on Fort Campbell Boulevard by law enforcement and reportedly opened the door and advised the officer she had paid for the merchandise.
Police say she refused to get out of the vehicle and had to be removed, and refused to put her hands behind her back, stating she needed to finish her cigarette first.
Between the two different incidents, police say over $2,000 worth of merchandise was taken. While being taken to the store to sign a trespass warning, police say she threatened the officer.
She was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, theft by unlawful taking, and third-degree terroristic threatening.
