A Hopkinsville man and a Lawrenceville, Georgia, woman have been taken into custody after a pursuit in a stolen vehicle in Christian County on Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle on West 9th Street that had been reported stolen, and the driver, 21-year-old Corey Johnson, fled, crossing into the opposite lane of traffic at times.

The pursuit reportedly came to an end on Fort Campbell Boulevard just south of Crenshaw Boulevard when a Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy used a precision immobilization technique, causing the vehicle to spin into the median.

Johnson and his passenger, 21-year-old Brenda Oliver, were taken into custody. They were both charged with receiving stolen property. Johnson, who had a warrant for non-payment of court costs, was also charged with speeding, failure to or improper signal, first-degree fleeing or evading police, operating on a suspended or revoked license, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, and possession of meth.
