Jury Issues Indictments for Wanton Endangerment, Distributing Child Porn

indictment-7

The Christian County Grand Jury on Friday issued several indictments, including wanton endangerment charges involving children and distributing child porn.

A true bill was returned against Destiny Ulmer of Hopkinsville on three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment stemming from an incident on September 25, 2025, investigated by the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Ulmer was arrested after a 17-year-old came to their office reporting he had used narcotics at home and needed help. Deputies said they responded to his home on West 15th Street and found filthy conditions, including feces on the floor and under beds, a strong urine odor, a box of cat feces infested with flies and insects, and suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

According to authorities, two other children were also in the home. Deputies contacted the Department of Community-Based Services and learned that the home was already being investigated with plans to remove one of the children.

Kayden Berrios, of Clarksville, Tennessee, was indicted for failing to maintain required insurance and first-degree wanton endangerment, following a May 19, 2025, crash on Carter Road.

Christian County deputies said the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Berrios hydroplaned and overturned multiple times. Berrios initially claimed he was alone in the car and requested that no report be filed, but deputies said they noticed the passenger airbag was deployed.

Later, authorities said they learned Berrios had asked a woman in the vehicle to call a friend to pick her up following the crash, due to a violation of a Tennessee protective order. After a call from the father of the woman to law enforcement, deputies said the woman, who lost consciousness and suffered three spinal fractures, was initially treated at Tennova Healthcare and then taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

Johnathan Reed of Hopkinsville faces two counts of distributing obscene material to minors and eleven counts of distribution of a matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor over 12 years of age but less than 18.

Reed is accused of using Snapchat to send explicit images to someone identifying as a 15-year-old girl and solicting video from her on June 30, 2025. He was arrested by Hopkinsville Police in November.
