Bertha White, 81, of Hopkinsville

Bertha Helen White, 81, passed away on January 14, 2026, at Baptist Health Madisonville, KY. She was born on March 31, 1944, in Hopkinsville, KY, to the late Bessie Green and Robert Metcalfe.

Bertha was a certified daycare owner of Bert’s Kiddie Land Home Daycare. She later worked as a cook at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Bertha found joy in cooking, shopping, and most of all spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James White, and two daughters, Christine Haskins and Lolita Simmons. She has six children: Barbara Baker, Sandra Wallace (James), James White, Ann Trice, Tina LeSueur (Lonnie), Vicky Anderson (Michael), Luther Brown (Gerald), and John Ray Green.

She is also survived by her Siblings Roma Northington, Levola Forrest, Alphonzo Bailey, and Romona Cayce (John Paul), Devoted Sons-In-law Michael Anderson, Lonnie LeSueur, Joseph Simmons, John Trice, James Wallace, Willis Haskins, 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren,9 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services will be on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Virginia Street Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Cave Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will begin Friday morning at 11:00.
