The owners of Casey Jones Distillery are confirming the sale of the popular western Kentucky craft distillery that was discussed during Monday’s Pennyrile Area Development District meeting.
In a statement released Tuesday morning Peg Hays shared details about the sale of the distillery. Hays says AJ, our partner Cody Turner, and she have agreed to sell Casey Jones Distillery to B3 Beverage Company, owned by Joey and Abby Feerrar.
Hays says there are some facts the public needs to know.
The name stays.
The history stays.
The craft stays.
The “Casey Jones way” stays.
And most importantly, the Casey Jones team stays.
Hays says they know this is the right time, the right people, and they trust the path they’re on. She adds that God has watched over this journey, and they feel sure the patrons and community are going to love Joey and Abby. Hays says B3 is positioned to take what we’ve built and carry it to the next level: the level AJ and she always dreamed of, worked for, and hoped the team would someday get to enjoy. And now they will.
Hays says this next chapter is a step up with a hand up for everyone:
• more support behind the scenes
• more industry knowledge and resources
• better systems that make work easier and more productive
• more opportunity to grow (and not just grow old & tired )
• more market reach for our spirits and events
• more product development (very exciting… stay tuned)
• more tourism and guest experiences
Hays said thank you to their customers, community, neighbors, vendors, family, and friends who have helped turn a dream into something real, lasting, and meaningful. Hays adds that the staff is the heartbeat of Casey Jones. She adds that the staff have worn every hat imaginable, fixed things before they even knew they were broken, and turned visitors into family. There is no Casey Jones Distillery without the staff.
Casey Jones Distillery was established in 2014 when co-founder AJ Jones acquired his grandfather Casey Jones’ square pot still from Land Between the Lakes. Jones crafted a square pot still like his grandfather’s and started distilling moonshine. From the early days, the distillery has expanded into producing bourbon, hosting unique tours and experiences, and serving as a community gathering place. The distillery underwent a major expansion that was completed in 2022 and included the addition of a new still house and two new stills, an expanded gift shop and tasting room, and other major improvements.
