Private memorial services for 75-year-old Janet Marie Downing of Hopkinsville will be held at a later date. King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Wood (James), John’s Island, SC, and Cindy Santiago (Alex), Hopkinsville, KY;
One sister, Cheri Regan (Robert), Ill., and several other brothers and sisters;
Three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
Janet Marie Downing was born in Chicago, IL, on May 20, 1950, to Robert and June Robbins Button. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Downing.
She passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at her home.
Janet was of the Episcopalian Faith, and a restaurant manager. She loved working puzzles, word games, and eating chocolate pie. She was an avid reader who loved to read Steven King novels.
