Melissa Hancock, 58, of Oak Grove, died at 11:03 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at her residence.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Prevette officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Hopkinsville, KY, she was born December 12, 1967, the daughter of the late Danny and Faylean “Faye” Mathews. Melissa had worked in the human resources department at Walmart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Velma Mathews.
Survivors include her husband: Curtis Hancock; her children: Curtis (Jeri Ellen) Hancock II of Hopkinsville, KY, Bracey (Philip) Draude of Portland, TN, and Ryne Hancock of Hopkinsville, KY; her brother: Mike (Connie) Mathews of Hopkinsville, KY; her sister: Amanda (Wayne) Hesson of Hopkinsville, KY; and her grandchildren: Eli, Makenzie, Kelsea, Tripp, Lilah, and Rowdy.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Children’s Miracle Network or Alzheimer’s Association.
