A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting a child on South Virginia Street on Tuesday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called for 38-year-old Tyrone Pannell who grabbed an 8-year-old child by the neck and threw him on the ground while separating him from another child.
He reportedly denied assaulting the child, but after further investigation into marks on the child, Pennell was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault and second-degree strangulation.
