Lonnie Patton, 80, of Hopkinsville, died at 8:23 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2025, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Ohio County, KY, he was born April 22, 1945. He was retired, having worked in electrical maintenance at Freudenburg. Following retirement, he worked seasonally at U.S. Tobacco. Lonnie loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and other outdoor activities.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Opal and Ivan Patton; his mother and step-father, Clarice Jean and George Askins; his brother, Allan Askins; and his sister, Brenda Reagan.
Survivors include his wife: Nancy Patton; his son: Lonnie Lee (Jennifer) Patton of Centertown, KY; his daughters: Ginger Morehead and her fiancée, Jeff Wathen, of Philpot, KY and Anita Patton of Centertown, KY; his step-daughter: Kristie (Michael) McGregor of Hopkinsville, KY; his brother: Richard Dale Askins of Owensboro, KY; his sister: Mary (David) Millay of Owensboro, KY; his grandchildren: Austin Patton, Coleton Patton, Leslie Fuqua, Sonnie Morehead, Aleecia Plascencia, Noe Plascencia, and Dalton McGregor; and ten great grandchildren.
