Amanda Nielsen, the director of operations for the Hopkinsville-Christian County Boys & Girls Club, has been named the 2025 Midwest Region Program Staff of the Year — a prestigious honor recognizing excellence in youth development across the area.

Nielsen received the award during the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Midwest Regional Leadership Conference October 22 in Louisville, and the honor is usually presented to program professionals who go above and beyond to create safe, engaging and meaningful experiences for young people.

Nielsen was specifically recognized for her leadership in developing innovative programs focused on academic success, mental health support and healthy lifestyles, and she is also credited with building strong relationships with youth and families, mentoring fellow staff members and making a lasting impact on the local community.

Executive Director Terrence Davis said Nielsen reflects the core mission of Boys & Girls Clubs, praising her dedication, creativity, and belief in the potential of every young person.

Nielsen said she is honored by the recognition and grateful to work with an organization committed to helping young people succeed, calling youth development both a “privilege” and a “responsibility.”
