Officials with T.RAD North America announced this week it will expand operations into Tennessee, with a major new manufacturing facility coming to Clarksville.
The company will invest $90.2 million and create 928 jobs at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Corporate Business Park South, marking its first-ever Tennessee location, and the new operation will support increased production and broaden T.RAD’s customer base across the southeast U.S.
T.RAD North America is headquartered in Hopkinsville, and is a subsidiary of Japan-based T.RAD, which was founded in 1936 in Kawasaki as a radiator manufacturer.
The company now operates on four continents, and is recognized globally for its heat-exchange technology.
With the move, Japan remains Tennessee’s leading source of foreign direct investment, with more than 200 Japanese-owned facilities supporting more than 57,000 jobs statewide.
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee said the project clearly strengthens Tennessee’s advanced manufacturing sector, and will bring major new opportunities for families in Montgomery County.
T.RAD North America President Taroh Miller, meanwhile, said the Clarksville facility represents a strategic investment that will boost manufacturing capacity, improve supply-chain performance and help the company meet rising customer demand.
T.RAD North America was founded in 1988 as a joint venture between Toyo Radiator Co., Ltd. of Japan and a U.S. partner. The company designs and manufactures heat exchangers for agricultural and construction equipment and is part of a global network known for engineering, quality, and innovation.
