Helen Sue West, age 84, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family of natural causes.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Home at 1:00 PM with Gerald Johnson officiating and burial to follow in George West Family Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2025. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.
Ms. West was born in Hopkinsville, KY, on March 2, 1941, to the late George and Edith Duvall West. She worked and retired as a Supervisor for Flynn Enterprises. She was a member of New Barren Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Wayne Gordon; her two brothers, Ben West and Walter “Porky” West; her two sisters, Jane Ferguson and Betty West; and her grandson, Brandon Scott Pugh.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna (Wendell) Pugh of Clarksville, TN, Penny (Bill) West of Hopkinsville, KY; her brother, Jerry (Virginia) West of Elkton, KY; her two sisters, Joan Bryant of Hopkinsville, KY, Lillie Early of Hopkinsville, KY; her sister-in-law, Elwanda West of Hopkinsville, KY; her four grandchildren, Melissa (George) Murphy of Herndon, KY, Alan (April) Pugh of Clarksville, TN, Chuck Robinson of Hopkinsville, KY, Lisa Harris of Todd County, KY; her seven great grandchildren, Brandon Pugh, Zachary Robinson, Austin Cameron, Gavin DeCoursey, Gabe DeCoursey, Add-ee (Will) Pettus, Hay-lee Murphy; and her one great great granddaughter, Ellee-Ann Murphy.
