The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County works every day to improve the lives of all residents.
December is a special time to honor that work, which is what Hopkinsville Mayor JR Knight and Christian County Judge Executive Jerry Gilliam did Tuesday evening, proclaiming the month as Human Rights Month.
Knight recognized the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations on December 10, 1948.
