Hopkinsville is officially dismantling the Cable Oversight Authority.
Tuesday evening, City Council voted to approve the second reading of the ordinance dissolving the Authority. The decision comes after the final 10-year contract with Spectrum was finalized. City officials say the landscape of cable in the 2030s is unknown.
Before the vote, Mayor JR Knight presented the current authority members with keys to the city.

City Council also approved a municipal order approving the transfer of land to the state for the widening project at KY 107/Lafayette Road. The city will receive $6,275 for the land.
