Pennyrile Electric has announced that a planned power outage for midnight Saturday at the Hopson Substation.
The outage is expected to last about four hours and will affect roughly 2,300 members in Caldwell, Lyon and Christian counties.
Officials say the outage is needed to perform maintenance at the substation following a previous outage a few weeks ago. The work is part of ongoing efforts to improve system reliability.
Affected members were notified by calls and texts on Wednesday and will receive another reminder on Saturday.
