Dawson Springs School Officials Investigating Threat List

Dawson Springs Schools Superintendent Leonard Whalen has addressed an incident involving two elementary students he says were found with a threatening list.

Monday afternoon, the school system shared a release on its social media page that said Monday morning, they learned of two elementary-aged girls who had a “kill list” in class.

Whalen said the teacher immediately confiscated the list, and the girls were immediately removed from class and dealt with on multiple levels. He added, ‘There appears to be no immediate threat.’

Whalen said they will continue to investigate the situation thoroughly and take appropriate action, adding that they will also contact the parents of anyone directly involved in any threat.

Because minors are involved, Whalen noted that the district’s ability to share information will be limited.
