The Hopkinsville Chamber of Commerce and Military Affairs Committee celebrated the opening of a new Military Veteran Wing at Cumberland Hall Hospital — a space designed to support the mental health needs of service members, veterans, and first responders.

Hopkinsville Mayor James R. Knight Jr. says the new “Patriot Wing” represents a vital step in caring for those who serve.
Knight says strong partnerships between Fort Campbell, the city, and Christian County make programs like this possible.
The new unit, called the Patriot Support Program, provides 10 dedicated beds for military personnel, veterans, and their families. Dr. Walter E. Wilson Jr., Chief Medical Officer at Cumberland Hall, says it’s about focused care.
Wilson encourages service members and veterans to reach out for help.
Shannon Lane, Director of Military Affairs, says the program is part of a larger community effort to combat veteran suicide and mental health stigma.
Lane says programs like this are crucial — giving veterans hope and a place to heal.
