Eunice Mae Gates, 91, Oak Grove, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Hopkinsville, KY.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 24, 2025 at 12pm at Gamble Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Peaceful Meadows Cemetery.
Visitation will begin Friday at 11:00.
Eunice, the daughter of the late Emma Lou Sipps and Arthur Gates, was born on May 20, 1934, in Abbeville, AL.
Eunice was the oldest member of Greater New Birth Church where she was a mother and a prayer warrior. She enjoyed fishing, ATL Braves, Gardening, praying, talking about the LORD, and her grandchildren. She never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed; a true light to all. She loved life, living, and was very thoughtful of others.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Oldham; daughter, Arlene Gates; siblings, Bishop Willie Lee Johnson, Lillie Mae Johnson, Nale Brooks; son-in-law, Willie Frank.
Survivors include her son, Elder Arthur (Pondra) Gates; daughters, Vanessa Ponton, Mary Joyce Gates, and Sophia Rhodes; brother, Benny Gates; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren
