Traffic Stop Leads To Weapons Charges

A Hopkinsville man was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after a traffic stop on Thomas Street Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say at 5:30 pm, they stopped a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Ja’Nahveon Lynes for a seat belt violation and found him in possession of a gun hidden under the seat.

He was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, failure to wear a seat belt, and carrying a concealed weapon by a prior deadly weapon felony offender.
