A report of a possible impaired driver led to the recovery of a stolen motorcycle and charges for two Tennessee men Saturday night.
Oak Grove Police say they were called to a gas station on Fort Campbell Boulevard for 43-year-old Gary Gunnels and 29-year-old Austin Zandt, who were on a motorcycle and possibly impaired.
When they arrived, they reportedly found the motorcycle had been reported stolen out of Clarksville, and the driver, Gunnels, claimed he had gotten the motorcycle from a friend but couldn’t provide the name of the friend.
Police say Gunnels was also found to have a warrant for probation violation out of Clarksville and was in possession of two syringes, drug paraphernalia, and tried to disregard suspected meth in the cruiser while being taken to jail.
While at the jail, Gunnels was reportedly also found to have suspected fentanyl on him.
Gunnels was charged with being a fugitive from another state, receiving stolen property, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, and public intoxication.
Zandt was also arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and public intoxication.
