A Hopkinsville man was charged with burglary and drug possession after a report of a burglary in progress on East 7th Street on Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called for a burglary in progress and located 43-year-old Marcus Jones, who walked away from them but was quickly apprehended.
He reportedly gave law enforcement two fake names before his real name was discovered, along with active warrants for probation violation.
Police say that while at the jail, he was found to have suspected marijuana and meth on his body.
Jones is charged with possession of meth, first-degree promoting contraband, possession of marijuana, third-degree burglary, public intoxication, third-degree fleeing or evading police, and giving an officer false identifying information.
