Tommy Harris, 61, of Todd County

Todd County, Kentucky resident Thomas Allan “Tommy” Harris, age 61 died Friday, October 10, 2025 in TriStar Skyline Medical Center Nashville, Tennessee.

He was born in Hopkinsville November 23, 1963, a son of Betty Katherine Cole and Joe Thomas Harris.

After graduating in the Todd County High School Class of 1981, Tommy became a truck driver. He went on to operate his own private trucking company before retiring in 2012.

As a youngster beside his proud daddy at the wheel of their blue pickup, Tommy loved to ride. His love for toy cars and slot car racing grew into dirt bike riding on the family farms. Next came Pro Street stock car racing. Tommy scored 2,916 points in the 1998 season at Clarksville Speedway driving Car Number 98. Before his racing years were over, he had passed down his love for racing to the next generation. Tommy was proud to see his son go on to compete as a driver of his own modified dirt track Car bearing “98” as a tribute to their shared passion.

He would fondly recall bygone adventures with family and friends ranging from short hikes in the country and going to the movies to hanging out after school and going to the roller rink on Friday nights. Tommy is remembered by his life-long friends as a nice, sweet guy who remained independent and strong-willed.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Juan Montellano Valverde in 1995.
