Funeral services for 94-year-old Alva Grace Wharton Bacon of Hopkinsville will be Friday, October 10, at 1:00 at Gamble Funeral Home in Hopkinsville.
Burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from noon until 1 at Gamble Funeral Home.
Alva Grace Wharton Bacon, 94, Hopkinsville, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, in Madisonville, KY.
Alva, the daughter of the late Ephfrom Wharton, Sr.and Katie Beatrice Patterson Wharton, was born on May 4, 1931, in Trigg County, Ky.
Alva was a member of Gracey Baptist Church where she was a part of the Mother's Board, choir, and Culinary Committee. She was employed as a custodian with Christian County Board of Education. She enjoyed singing, sewing, gardening and working with plants and flowers, being outdoors, being a devoted caregiver. She loved taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Carl Bacon; siblings, 5 sisters and 3 brothers; grandson, Cordez Bacon.
Survivors include her daughter, May Bacon; special son, Stamard (Evelyn) Kendrick; a host of nieces and nephews.
