A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend on Cave Street in Christian County Saturday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called for 49-year-old Kenneth Shepherd, who had grabbed his girlfriend’s wrist, would not let her leave, and threw her phone when she tried to call for help.
He was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, belligerent with law enforcement, and resisted arrest.
Shepherd was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest, and first-degree unlawful imprisonment.
