Hopkinsville Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges

A traffic stop for a problem with a license plate light on West 7th Street led to drug charges Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a vehicle driven by 27-year-old William Petrin, and during the stop, the odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle.

After a search, Police say marijuana, along with a glass smoking pipe with what is believed to be meth inside, was located.

Petrin was arrested and charged with possession of meth, rear license not illuminated, license to be in possession, possession of marijuana, and no insurance.
