Hopkinsville Celebrates Local Flavors During 5th Annual Taste of the Town

For two days, Founders Square was packed with the smells of sizzling food and the sound of live music during the fifth annual Taste of the Town.

This was the first year the event moved to Founders Square, after previously being held at Hopkinsville Brewing Company.

It kicked off Friday, August 8th, with karaoke and food trucks.

More than a dozen vendors from Christian County and beyond served everything from African and Caribbean dishes to BBQ.

The event was held alongside the Eighth of August holiday, marking emancipation from slavery in Kentucky.

Local baker Jewel Lynch says it’s about more than just food.
