A search on Lake Barkley has ended after authorities recovered the body of a missing Tennessee man during a multi-agency operation in Livingston County.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation started Wednesday in Grand Rivers after 68-year-old Donald Smith of Johnson City, Tennessee, was reported missing.
Authorities reported Thursday morning that Smith’s body was found in Lake Barkley, and initial findings suggest there is no indication of foul play at this time.
The death investigation is ongoing by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office was assisted in the search and recovery efforts by the Department of Fish and Wildlife, Livingston County Emergency Management, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Livingston County EMS, the Grand Lakes Fire Department, and the Livingston and Lyon County Coroner’s Offices.
