The body of a man missing since a swimming incident in Kentucky Lake Wednesday night has been recovered.According to officials, search operations resumed Thursday morning for the unidentified man who went missing in the water near Jonathan Creek, with the body recovered around 1pm.
According to information from the Marshall County Rescue Squad, squad members were initially called out Wednesday night to the report of a woman yelling for help in the water.
Officials say a couple had apparently stopped their boat and jumped in the water to swim and their boat floated away from their location. A witness on the scene yelled at the woman to keep swimming and she was able to make it to the dock.
The witness then called 911, and a responder to the scene was able to get the woman out of the water. However, the male victim, who was also swimming to the dock, went under the water and did not resurface.
Multiple agencies from Marshall, McCracken, and Lyon County, as well as the Department of Fish and Wildlife responded to the scene and assisted.
