Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation is gearing up for a busy July, with family-friendly events planned throughout the city — including fireworks, live music, and water fun for the kids.
We spoke with Toby Hudson, Parks and Rec Superintendent and Program Coordinator Jacob Gibson about the upcoming events.

click to download audioThe fireworks will last about 18 to 22 minutes, and music will be synced through WHVO at 96.5 and 100.9 FM. Hudson encourages families to arrive early.
click to download audioThere will also be a Hoptown Hoppers game that evening across the street, so Hudson asks for patience with traffic.
click to download audioThe fun continues the following week with two more events. First up is Hoptown Throwdown on July 11th at Founders Square.

Then, on July 15th at 1 p.m., it’s time for another Hoptown Hosedown — this time at the Boys and Girls Club on Walnut Street.
