Major drug trafficking, a DUI and an attempted arson were key indictments following Friday’s return in Christian County Circuit Court.

A true bill has been returned on Lewis O’Hara Jr., who has been charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance first offense carfentanil or fentanyl derivative, first-degree first offense four or more grams of cocaine, second-degree first offense 10 or more small units of a hallucinogen, trafficking marijuana first offense between eight ounces and five pounds of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, using restricted ammunition during a felony with no shots fired and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All charges stem from on, or about, April 23 through April 28, in which a month-long investigation led to the arrest of the 52-year-old Oak Grove man at the 100 block of Gail Street, where Christian County Sheriff’s officers found a Taurus 9 mm, a Ruger .380, marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine, suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia at the home.

Bail was set at $100,000.

A true bill has been returned on Mark Ware, who has been charged with first-degree assault, four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, three counts of first-degree criminal mischief, leaving an accident with failure to render aid or assistance with death or a serious injury, first offense DUI, failure to maintain required insurance and no/expired registration plates.

On May 9, a woman was rushed to a waiting helicopter after she was hit by a truck during a party on Broad Street in Hopkinsville. Ware reportedly stopped in the road, reversed into a parked vehicle, then went forward into a tent with several people around a table inside, before hitting a parked car and coming to a stop on top of Willie Haskins, a lady in her 60s.

Bail was set at $50,000 and $1,000.

A true bill has been returned on 37-year-old, James Brown, who has been charged with first-degree attempted arson, with bail set at $25,000 and an ankle monitor administered.

On, or about, April 27, it is alleged he attempted to start a fire with the intent to destroy or damage a home belonging to “R.F.”
