On July 1, Trigg County Hospital will have full control and ownership of the former Rose’s building — located on Main Street in east Cadiz.
During Thursday night’s Board of Trustees meeting, President & CEO John Sumner said that Chris Spurr and Spurr Architecture would be involved in the next steps.
The property has potential not only to be a key clinic, but also has room for expansion.
Those discussions, however, will become more public at a later date. Members closed this meeting in executive session, with no action taken.
In other hospital news:
— Sumner said the Dr. Bostick renovation was “narrowing down,” with HR and medical records expected to be moved there within the next 45 days.
This, he added, will give Jamie Slagle and dermatology more space.
— SKY Engineering, out of Bowling Green, recently stopped through to offer recommendations on a generator replacement for the hospital. Sumner said the same size could be used, but questions remain on three transfer switches.
— Sumner said that Dr. William O’Hearn has been added to Primary Care for three 10-hour days: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. With education stops at the University of Connecticut and the Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados, he completed his residency at Trover Clinic and Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Board Certified in family medicine, he will offer a variety of preventative care services such as annual physical exams, vaccinations, immunizations and wellness exams.
— And Sumner noted that a short-term subcontracting and in-house effort is what will likely be needed to put together some EMS building renovations, before potentially good news arrives on a grant that could help construct a new ambulance shack.
