A Hopkinsville man was charged with threatening people, forcing them to leave their home after mistakenly entering the wrong house on Wayside Drive Wednesday night.

Hopkinsville Police say 58-year-old Jeremiah Brown showed up at the house claiming it was his home, demanding everyone to leave, and threatening to get a gun.

He reportedly had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from him, was unsteady on his feet, and had bloodshot and glassy eyes.

Police say he had the homeowner’s wallet on him, and his vehicle was parked in the road running with a beer bottle and a rifle inside.

Jeremiah Brown, who lives down the road, was arrested and charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree burglary, and alcohol intoxication in a public place.

55-year-old Jamie Brown, who is Jeremiah Brown’s wife, was also arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place and third-degree criminal trespassing.
