Fort Campbell’s Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) is gearing up for a full slate of Independence Day festivities, including a four-day carnival and a high-energy concert featuring Flo Rida and Blanco Brown on Friday, July 4.
The Fourth of July Fest Carnival runs from July 2 through July 5, offering rides, games, and concessions. The highlight of the celebration comes on July 4 with the Fourth of July Fest Concert at Division Parade Field, located at 6390 Desert Storm Avenue, capped off with the region’s largest fireworks display.
Concertgoers will enjoy genre-blending performances as Blanco Brown, known for merging country and hip-hop, opens for multi-platinum hip-hop artist Flo Rida.
Melissa Schaffner, Chief of the NAF Support Division, notes there will also be several unique experiences and refreshments like a test-drive event from BMW, Harley-Davidson’s motorcycle ‘jump-start’ simulator, energy drinks from Black Rifle Coffee Company, and specialty beverages from Leatherwood Distillery.
Gates 1, 4 (TC Freeman), 7, and 10 will be open for all traffic. Non-DOD ID card holders will need a base access pass for carnival days, except between 3 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on July 4.
Passes are available at the TC Freeman Visitor Control Center or online at https://pass.aie.army.mil.
A valid photo ID is required for all vehicle occupants age 16 and up, and vehicles are subject to search.
The event is free and open to the public, although carnival rides and food will have a cost.
Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for seating. Umbrellas for shade are allowed until 5 p.m., but firearms, fireworks, outside alcohol, glass bottles, grills, and pets are strictly prohibited.
To stay safe and comfortable, MWR recommends attendees wear hats, use sunscreen and bug spray, and stay hydrated throughout the festivities.
