Lake Barkley State Resort Park - Outdoor Pool & Lodge
Renovations at Lake Barkley State Resort Park are set to begin in September, bringing about some extended closures of park facilities.
Park Manager Ashley Joiner told Your News Edge that work on the $17 million project will begin following the Labor Day holiday.
Joiner said there will be many changes at the park.
Cadiz-Trigg County Tourist & Convention Commission Director Beth Sumner stated that the renovation closure of Lake Barkley State Resort Park, the county’s largest lodging facility, will have a noticeable impact.
Listings of other Trigg County lodging can be found at GoCadiz.com.
Kentucky State Parks announced the $17 million renovation project for Lake Barkley State Resort Park in December. The announcement built upon the “New Kentucky Home” Initiative, which Governor Andy Beshear had unveiled last year, to drive economic investment and tourism across the commonwealth. The funding for these upgrades was approved during the 2024 legislative session.
