Ever wonder what compels a person to run 100 miles, knowing the challenges that lie ahead?
For Cameron Putty, it was fueled by a personal commitment to Ordinary Hero, his family’s charity focused on helping families in Ethiopia.
Shane and Kelly Putty, who own Trigg County’s Nine Pines Retreats, are Cameron’s parents. Their modern camping spot is a go-to for anyone needing a break from everyday life.
With a boost from country hitmaker and Ferrell’s burger enthusiast Bryan White, Cameron set off from Nashville on his 100-mile run, ending at his parents’ business. His journey lasted a little longer than anticipated.
Cameron added that his inspiration for running came from a friend about five years ago.
The Ordinary Hero Foundation celebrated 15 years of service in 2025, and Cameron is committed to the work accomplished.
As of Monday afternoon, Cameron is about $10,000 shy of his $25,000 goal, which would help 100 families, one for every mile he ran over the weekend.
